Now that I’ve seen that weird Korean revenge movie Old Boy by Chan-wook Park and am about to see Kelly Reichardt’s 2006 effort Old Joy which has just arrived from Netflix, I’m really looking forward to seeing films on the following themes:
a) A film adaptation of The Velveteen Rabbit.
b) An aging priest checks himself into a retirement home only to find it is for elderly Jews. Hilarious cultural misunderstandings occur.
c) The owners of a small noodle shop in Tokyo fall on hard times and are forced to press into service the dusty boxes of condiments they find in the basement in order to make ends meet . Hilarious results ensue as they prepare for a visit by the health inspectors.
it took me only a few seconds to get it! because simsby explained it to me immediately, knowing i’d never get it on my own!
brilliant! oy vey!
[titles redacted]
yes, they are in my queue.
netflix tells me though that the last one is technically a heart-warming tale
Oh and in my haste to take up jonie v.’s challenge I forgot to mention one thing:
Awesome post! I love this genre of plot summaries!
and they rhyme which I believe qualifies them for a special prize category!
the summaries don’t rhyme, silly.
I don’t have time to watch movies. The Russian ballet’s in town!
